When Terrance moves to New York from North Carolina, he meets a beautiful young woman named Mattie. She becomes a real asset to him, showing him how to get around in the city, and becomes a good friend. It is not long before their friendship becomes more and Terrance falls deeply in love with Mattie. He believes they are on the same page with regards to where their relationship is headed. But when Terrance takes a second job and begins working longer hours, Mattie becomes volatile and accuses him of cheating.
